Vishu 2025

The Manitoba Hindu Malayali Community (MHMC) joyfully celebrated Vishu 2025 on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at the Hindu Temple & Raj Pandey Hindu Centre in Winnipeg. The event brought together families, friends, and community members to celebrate the Malayalam New Year with devotion, tradition, and cultural pride.

A Blessed Beginning – Vishu Pooja

The celebrations began with the sacred Vishu Pooja from 10:00 am to 10:30 am. Devotees gathered in prayer, embracing the spiritual significance of Vishu — a festival symbolizing prosperity, new beginnings, and hope for the year ahead. The serene atmosphere set a meaningful tone for the day’s events.

Official Inauguration

The formal Inauguration Ceremony took place from 11:00 am to 11:45 am. Community leaders addressed the gathering, emphasizing unity, cultural preservation, and the importance of passing traditions to the next generation. The ceremony officially marked the commencement of the Vishu celebrations.

Vishu Sadya – A Traditional Feast

One of the most anticipated highlights of the day was the traditional Vishu Sadya, served from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm. The delicious, authentic Kerala feast brought everyone together in the true spirit of community and gratitude. Sharing a meal strengthened bonds and created moments of joy across generations.

MHMC Vishu 2025 was more than just a celebration — it was a powerful reminder of our shared roots, values, and unity. The event successfully brought together the Malayali community in Manitoba to celebrate tradition while strengthening friendships and community spirit.

The Manitoba Hindu Malayali Community extends heartfelt gratitude to all volunteers, performers, sponsors, and attendees who made Vishu 2025 a grand success.

As we step into this new year, may Vishu bring prosperity, happiness, and success to every home.

Happy Vishu! 🌼
